Passengers at Diss rail station can once again enjoy hot drinks and snacks from the platform thanks to local couple, Jayne Harris and Ben Redmayne, who have reopened the coffee shop there.

The opening of ‘Espresso Vapore’ on platform 1 is a change of direction for Jayne, 50, who decided she wanted a new venture after working as a carer for 20 years.

She is running the business with partner, Ben, who is a career chef and has plans to introduce hot food to the menu in the future.

The couple say they are very happy with their first week of business since opening on 3rd October, after carrying out a month-long refurbishment of the shop at the Abellio Greater Anglia station.

Jayne commented, “It’s been brilliant! We’ve been really busy and I just wish I’d done something like this sooner.”

Andrew Goodrum, Abellio Greater Anglia’s Head of Customer Service, said, “I’m delighted that the coffee shop has reopened, improving customer service and the ambience of the station. I wish Jayne and Ben every success with their new venture.”
