Abellio Greater Anglia is due to commence work to redevelop Ipswich rail station this autumn and has announced two open days where passengers can see the plans.

Abellio Greater Anglia managers will be on hand on Tuesday 29th September (0700-1100) and Wednesday 30th September (1600-2000) to answer any questions and provide passengers with information about the work.

The redevelopment of Ipswich station will include a new ticket office, booking hall, gateline and improved retail outlets.

The plans will allow for a more spacious layout and new, additional retail outlets in the booking hall as well as waiting facilities and improved customer information.

The work is being funded by the National Stations Improvement Programme and will significantly improve the facilities and waiting environment for passengers.

Abellio Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, Alan Trett, commented: “We hope that passengers will appreciate the opportunity to see what is planned for the station and ask any questions they may have before the work starts. The redevelopment will greatly improve the layout of the booking hall area and create a more spacious, modern feel to bring the station into the 21st century and improve the station environment for our customers.”
