Big-hearted Francis Mills is on target to raise £1000 to help a little boy’s fight against Batten’s Disease.
Francis, who works as a Travel Fulfilment Clerk, for train operator, Abellio Greater Anglia, will raise money for BDFA (a charity that researches for a cure and helps make the lives of those with the condition more comfortable) by running the London Marathon.
Francis, 36, from Parkeston, was inspired to run for the charity after finding the ‘Harry’s Heroes’ Facebook page, where the family of five year old Harry Rolph-Wills, who suffers from the condition, are raising awareness and money to help fight the disease.
Francis has already beaten his initial target of £500, £400 of which was raised through a quiz night, and has now increased it to £1000 to help Harry, who is from Harwich, and other children like him.
Harry and his family plan to travel to London to cheer Francis on when he runs the Marathon in September.
